Perfected 03: Unlimited Expectations

Perfected 03: Unlimited Expectations

LIMITED EXPECTATIONS

GENESIS 15:1-2

Sometime later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” 2 But Abram replied, “O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son?”

We tend to think in terms of addition.

God thinks in terms of multiplication.

GENESIS 15:5 NIV

Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”

UNLIMITED EXPECTATIONS
GALATIANS 3:29 NIV

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed …

Never measure Jesus’ unlimited, transformative power by your limited expectations.

THE DISCIPLES LIMIT THEIR EXPECTATIONS

MATTHEW 17:19-20

Later the disciples came to him privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we cast out the demon?”

He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith.

I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move!

THE WORD IS OUR SOURCE OF FAITH

Jesus compares faith to a small seed that grows into a large shrub. Faith will grow as it feeds on spiritual truth found in the Bible.

Faith is a journey and grows as we trust in the promises of Jesus!

For our mustard seed imperfect faith to be transformed, perfect faith must be received.

FOR FAITH’S SAKE

I am not called to have “faith for benefits.” We are just called to have faith in Jesus. Just because the benefits don’t manifest, we do not relinquish being humble enough to receive His perfect faith.

WE HAVE GREATER MOUNTAINS TO MOVE THAN SIMPLY LOOKING FOR FAITH BENEFITS.

THERE ARE MOUNTAINS TO BE MOVED

A mountain can also be a symbol of a kingdom. Mountain-moving PERFECTED faith brings the power of God’s kingdom to the earth and shifts principalities.

In Verse 17, Jesus asks, “Where is your faith? Can’t you see how wayward and wrong this generation is?”

This generation: The era of those who deny me…

Without that faith in Jesus – everything humanity does will be unholy and unrighteous.

Anybody can have faith. But not everybody uses that faith to make their faith perfect by Jesus.

Having perfect faith while we are in an imperfect world gives us the permission never to bend and not be quickly broken.

…Never bend (HOLY)

…Not Quickly broken (RIGHTEOUS)

The Aramaic can be translated as “Nothing is higher or stronger than you.” There is nothing you couldn’t do!

It is, in fact, faith that inspires us to stand for what we believe. Faith is the genuine belief that Jesus has made that which is imperfect, perfect, unholy, holy, and unrighteous, righteous.

Our limited faith, when not made perfect, limits our expectations of morality and standards.

1 TIMOTHY 6:11

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

Jesus’ unlimited ability to perfect who we are lifts us to dream purposefully (faith), live intentionally (holy), and walk peacefully (righteous balance).

His perfect faith needs to be received through our imperfect faith.

RIGHT TIME AND PLACE

Our limited faith can put us in the right place at the right time… Then, when we turn that right place, right time moment to Jesus – He perfects it!

ECCLESIASTES 9:11 NLT

I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle … And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.

JESUS IS ALWAYS READY TO PERFECT FAITH

JOHN 5:17

… “My Father is always working, and so am I.”

We don’t have to be begging and pleading for Jesus to arrive to move the mountain. We don’t have to ask God for a special visitation into a circumstance.

When the world turns away, we turn towards!

You don’t have to start a movement to be a part of a movement.

God does the exponential when you are in the right place at the right time with the right response.

We become through faith (given) what he calls us to be (received) – holy and righteous.

THE STORY OF THE TALONS

(Matthew 25:19-29)

WE WILL HOLD NOTHING BACK!

HE PERFECTS THAT WHICH IS GIVEN TO HIM.

Jesus doesn’t need you to have perfect faith; He just needs you to bring to Him what you have.

How could there be any other response?

MATTHEW 25:21

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.
