The Power of The Breakthrough
Thanksgiving – The Foundation of Our Faith

Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

The power of faith in an uncertain future requires thanksgiving for the healing of our past.

We give thanks for what Jesus has done. What He has done assures us of what He is doing and will still do.

The Nature of Faith

Faith has significance in a believer’s life.

But faith without being in a relationship with God is just a vain imagination.

Thanksgiving brings us into a close relationship with God because we give thanks for the tangible effects He has on us.

Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Gratitude for Past Blessings

A discipline of reflecting on God’s faithfulness in the past is essential in building our faith in the future.

Psalm 100:4 – “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”

Sharing personal testimonies of God’s provision and guidance is so powerful that it conquers Satan!

  1. Building Faith through Thankfulness

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Gratitude fosters a stronger, more resilient faith.

Maintain a gratitude journal or practice daily thanksgiving.

  1. Trusting in God’s Promises

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Past blessings and thanksgiving strengthen the believer’s trust in God’s promises for the future.

  1. The Unseen Future
Life often holds uncertainties and challenges. But there is nothing new under the sun.

2 Corinthians 4:18 – “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Cultivate a daily habit of gratitude and build your faith for the unseen future.
